On a practical note, I am holding off the Christmas festive decorations in my house as I'm having a wood burner installed, so with all the dust and mess that will produce, I've pressed the HOLD button. BUT that doesn't stop me searching for this years theme. My daughter & I start discussing themes in September and this year our colour theme is white, red & gold.
I have some favourites that I bring out, like my gold wooden star tree decorations all different sizes that I bring out every single year and also my glass baubles which I packed away ever so carefully every January. Then we build on that. Sometimes with a tree and sometimes with branches. This year, it's a tree with bows.
Etsy is a site I regularly go to for inspiration, not just for Christmas. Watch this space for my next blog about updating furniture with new knobs & pulls, Etsy is where I go to browse and I've found them.
Many moons ago I spent hours and I mean hours making popcorn garlands & wreaths, I've never done it again. So if like me you spend (waste) too much time on Pinterest, you're next port of call (if you don't want to make them yourself) will be Etsy!
Etsy is HUGE, so my tips would always be to start of with the Editors' Picks, and this year you have a huge choice of Editors' Picks for Christmas, my starting points have been:
If like me you want to start a list of 'must haves', use the 'Pin It' button, straight to Pinterest. Boom! Done!
To be honest, I love garlands at any point of the year, Easter egg ones, Summer bunting and Autumn leaf ones. For Christmas I would normally use pine branches from my garden for a homemade garland for the mantlepiece, but the gardener chopped it down, so I'm on the hunt!!!
We've done a special 20 for under £20 all about garlands. Here are our 20 favourites, which I feel cover most styles classic or modern, full on or minimal. Click here for all the products featured and happy festive hunting!!!
