How do you add a splash of colour to your kitchen?
I am not at all a fan of 'colourful' kitchens BUT I do rather favour adding splashes of colours against a more neutral background.
I am also a huge fan of the colour red as an accent colour. If you think it sounds a bit racey, I've added a large red accent in my neutral living room and it's by far my most favourite home accent!
You will notice below a white item, it is also very important when using bold accent colours such as red that you also add white. It creates balance between the colour and the neutral background and generally makes the trend look 'clean' & 'fresh'. In my living room with the red accent are also white cushions & a white coffee table, it's all about balance.
So here is the tip on using colour in your interior schemes:
if you have a colourful interior scheme and you want to freshen it up ADD WHITE!
If you have a neutral interior scheme, pick your accent colour and ADD WHITE!
These selections are not chosen to be overwhelming but rather an accent background colour to add a little spicy punch!
