After all the excesses of Christmas and New Year Eve, january always comes as a surprise! January welcomes the most depressing day of the year, every year without.
Now I'm not one for sitting around doing nothing, even if there is no cash, so out come the annual lists of things to do! This year, it's to re-organise the whole utility room & linen storage situation. I live in house with NO built-in storage and I have fashioned a variety of storgae solutuons by painting armoires and removing the doors to create open storage, I am a huge fan of Ikeas utility storage solutions and if you don't need something, please don't throw it away, donate it! We might all be feeling the pinch, but remember there are always other people more needy!
I've spotted a variety of utility accessories on sale online, which I must say look gorgeous! So if your list involves throwing out that rainbow selection of plastic homewares, these are perfect to replace, AND IT'S ON SALE!!!!
So kicking off with Garden Trading, a personal favourite for that country look with an urban edge!
Here is one at the top of my list and a constant bug bear when I can't find an asprin or plaster - sort out and create a first aid box. Click here to view
Everytime you buy a new jumper or shirt and you get those spare buttons, I throw them in the bottom of a draw along with odd earrings, spare keys and safety pins but it's on my list, waste not want not!
Use baskets to get organised! I always buy 2 of everything at the supermarket, shampoo, toothpaste, creams, handwash etc! If I used some lovely storage baskets, it will free up some valuable storage space!
